The Ricoh Aficio MP 9001 is a 90 ppm A3 mono production multifunction built for central reprographics groups and large departments of 100-300 users that need a high-throughput workhorse for print, copy, scan, and optional fax. It prints and copies at true 1200 x 1200 dpi, with a first copy time of 3.3 seconds — but plan on a 300-second warm-up from cold (the price of a 90-ppm fuser). Standard paper capacity is 4,300 sheets — a 3,100-sheet tandem letter tray plus two 550-sheet user-adjustable trays plus a 100-sheet bypass — expandable to 8,300 sheets with the optional 4,000-sheet LCT. The 150-sheet single-pass ADF scans 55 ipm color or 80 ipm B&W to email, network folder, the 160 GB HDD, FTP, SMB, USB stick, or SD card from the 9-inch WVGA color touchscreen. Memory is 512 MB std / 1.5 GB max (basic), 1.5 GB on SP. Connectivity is 10/100 Ethernet plus USB 2.0 and SD card slot standard; Gigabit, 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and IEEE 1284 are options. Finisher options run from 50-sheet stapler through a 3,000-sheet finisher with saddle-stitch, hole-punch, and multi-folding. The honest part: this is a 2010 platform that Ricoh has discontinued. Aftermarket toner is plentiful and the mechanics are bulletproof, but only buy used/refurb if you have an independent service tech.
