The Ricoh Aficio MP 6002SP is the 'SP' (print/scan controller bundled) configuration of the MP 6002 — a 60 ppm A3 mono MFP for departments of 30-100 users. SP ships with print, scan, the 1.5 GB RAM controller, and the 250 GB HDD all standard, instead of as upgrade options. It prints up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, copies at 60 ppm with a 3.9-second first copy time, and scans 88 ipm simplex or 176 ipm duplex through the 150-sheet single-pass color duplex ADF. Standard paper capacity is 4,300 sheets across the tandem letter tray, two 550-sheet user-adjustable trays, and a 100-sheet bypass — expandable to 8,300 sheets with the optional 4,000-sheet LCT. Scan destinations include email, network folder, FTP, SMB, the on-board HDD, USB stick, and SD card directly from the 9-inch WVGA color touchscreen. Connectivity is 10/100 Ethernet plus USB 2.0 and SD card slot standard; Gigabit, 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and IEEE 1284 are options. The honest part: this is a 2012 platform — Ricoh has discontinued it. Aftermarket toner is plentiful and the engine is rock-solid, but only buy used/refurb if you have an independent service tech. The thing buyers regret: not also adding the saddle-stitch finisher at order time when their proposal output justifies it.
