Is this the right printer for you?

Who the Oce Plotwave 360 is actually for

Most printer pages just tell you what a printer does. Here's the honest version: when this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We sell a lot of these for a reason, but the reason is not "every office."

Best fit

Pick this if...

  • Pick this if you're an AEC firm doing 200-1,000 D-size prints monthly and need print, copy, and color scan in one unit.
  • Pick this if instant warm-up from sleep matters because you print in unpredictable bursts.
  • Pick this if a 397-lb footprint and low ozone let you put the machine in shared office space.
  • Pick this if the 10.4-inch touchscreen with pinch-zoom preview will save you wasted prints.
  • Pick this if you need to digitize color markups and field redlines through the device.
Works fine

You'll be happy if...

  • It's fine if your volume is 100-200 D-size monthly and you want growth headroom.
  • It's fine if you only need basic Ethernet and USB connectivity.
  • It's fine if you can live with the older Windows 8 embedded controller for a few more years.
  • It's fine if you only occasionally use the scanner for redlines, not high-volume archiving.
Look elsewhere

Skip this if...

  • Skip this if your IT department mandates Windows 10 IoT or newer; pick the PlotWave 3000.
  • Skip this if you need color printing; monochrome only.
  • Skip this if you print 1,500+ D-size monthly; step up to the PlotWave 500 or 5000.
  • Skip this if you need duplex wide-format; single-sided only.
  • Skip this if you need wireless or full mobile-app workflows out of the box.
Full specifications

Every spec, no guessing

The Oce PlotWave 360 is a 6-page-per-minute D-size monochrome multifunction wide-format for small to mid-sized architecture, engineering, and construction shops. It hits 600x1200 dpi via LED electrophotography with Radiant Fusing for instant warm-up (under 40 seconds from sleep, 1 second in normal mode). The 10.4-inch ClearConnect touchscreen is genuinely usable, with pinch-zoom for previewing drawings before you commit paper. Integrated color scanner is the practical differentiator from the 3500 and the reason most buyers pick the 360 instead. The Windows 8 embedded controller is the one thing buyers regret; if your IT team has standardized on Windows 10 IoT, look at the PlotWave 3000 series instead. Footprint is reasonable at 397 lbs, and low ozone plus low heat means it can sit in a shared office. Sweet spot is 200 to 1,000 D-size prints monthly. USB and Ethernet are standard. No wireless. Cloud workflows via Oce mobile drivers. Solid choice for an AEC firm that wants plotter, copier, and color scanner in one footprint without going to full production-class scale.

Supplies & consumables

Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.

If you lease this printer through us, toner and drum are included. You never pay for supplies separately. That's usually the better deal once you add up real costs over 3 years.
