The varioPRINT 140 Quartz is Canon's high-productivity B/W production printer at 140 ipm with 600 x 2400 dpi DirectPress imaging — built for demanding high-volume workflows in commercial print and corporate in-plants. Mono-component toner is oil-free and uses low-temperature fusing with zero ozone emissions, capacity runs 4,000 sheets standard expandable to 8,000 with optional ePIM, and dual 3,000-sheet stackers plus a 200-sheet top tray handle output. The PRISMAsync 3.1 GHz controller drives visual, media-driven scheduling, and integrated finishing covers stapling, booklet making to 25 sheets, punching, folding, and trimming. The PRISMAsync 3.1 GHz controller drives visual media-driven scheduling on a 15 inch touchscreen, with drag-and-drop job preview and live media status. Footprint is roughly 92 x 42 inches and weight is around 1,600 lb on the production stand. Power runs on 208 V at 20 A. Toner yields run around 80,000 impressions per cartridge for low CPP, and DirectPress oil-free operation simplifies handling and HVAC. Honest regret: at 140 ppm the Quartz adds 600 x 2400 dpi quality to the standard 140 — text-only shops should stick with the base 140 at 143 ipm.
