The Canon imageRUNNER 5070 is a 50 ppm production-class B&W MFP — sibling of the 5020 generation, with a slightly faster first copy out (3.3 seconds vs 3.5) and the same 200,000 pages/month max duty cycle. Standard paper capacity is up to 4,150 sheets across dual 550-sheet drawers, dual 1,500-sheet drawers, and a 50-sheet bypass. Print resolution is 600 x 600 dpi (smoothed to 2400 x 600 equivalent). The 10.4-inch color touchscreen, standard auto duplex, and 100-sheet DADF are all in the box. Toner is the NPG-26 / GPR-16 family at 45,000 impressions per cartridge — that long cartridge life is one of the main reasons shops keep these in service. The chassis is 47 x 25-3/8 x 29-1/4 inches and weighs 474 lb, needs 208V/16A power. This is the right machine for a central reprographics department, in-plant, or large workgroup printing 30,000-100,000 pages a month. The thing buyers regret: thinking the 5070 has modern security or cloud workflows. It doesn't — mid-2000s controller stack, no TLS 1.2, no SMBv3, no AirPrint. Most buyers today are existing fleet operators replacing a sister unit. For modern workflows, look at the iR-ADV DX 6700 series instead.
