  • You need legal-size duplex automatic — works on the 105+ but check feeder weight specs for thicker stocks.

The Canon imageRUNNER 105+ is the late-cycle controller refresh of the iR 105 production B&W platform — same 105 ppm letter / 60 ppm 11x17 engine, same 617-lb chassis, but with an updated imagePASS / Color controller option for shops that needed PostScript 3 emulation and faster RIP throughput. Standard paper capacity is 3,000 sheets across two 1,500-sheet drawers, expandable to roughly 7,700 with the high-capacity feeder. Monthly duty cycle is 300,000 pages and first copy out is 2.8 seconds. Buyers today are almost always existing iR 105 fleet operators looking for a like-for-like swap to keep training, parts, and toner supply continuous. The thing buyers regret: assuming the '+' added modern security or mobile printing — it didn't. There's no AirPrint, no native cloud connectors, and no TLS 1.2 support; this is an early-2000s controller stack with a faster RIP. If you need any of that, look at the iR-ADV 4700 series instead. If you just need a 105-ppm B&W workhorse for a print room and you have the power and floor space, the 105+ keeps doing what it always did.
