Is this the right printer for you?

Who the Canon Arizona 1360 GT is actually for

Most printer pages just tell you what a printer does. Here's the honest version: when this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We sell a lot of these for a reason, but the reason is not "every office."

Best fit

Pick this if...

  • You run a sign and display shop printing 1,000-3,500 sq ft a day on rigid substrates.
  • You need white ink for backlit work, dark substrates, and second-surface glass — 6-channel CMYK + white + varnish is the sweet spot.
  • You also want clear varnish for tactile and selective gloss/matte effects without giving up your white channel.
  • You print POP, retail signage, exhibition panels, packaging mockups, and some fine art repro on rigid.
  • You're upgrading from a 1340 GT and want white ink in field upgrade rather than buying a new chassis.
Works fine

You'll be happy if...

  • You print 3,500-5,000 sq ft a day — works fine at Production density, but you'll be running long shifts. The 1380 GT or 6160 XTHF takes you further.
  • You'd benefit from LC/LM for photo-grade gradients but can live without it — the 1380 GT is the upgrade.
  • You print on flexible roll media — optional Roll Media Option bolts on.
  • You're consolidating a 1240 GT (CMYK only) and a separate white-ink machine into one — the 1360 GT does both.
Look elsewhere

Skip this if...

  • You only print solid-color signage with no white ink needed — the 4-channel 1340 GT is cheaper and does the same job.
  • You need pieces larger than 49 x 98 in. — get the 1360 XT (8 x 10 ft bed).
  • You print over 5,000 sq ft a day — the 6160 XTHF Mark II is built for that production volume.
  • You need fine art photo reproduction with skin tones and skies — the 1380 GT (8-channel CMYK + LC/LM + white + varnish) is the photo tool.
  • You don't have a calibrated workflow with white-ink RIP profiles — white ink workflow has a learning curve.
Full specifications

Every spec, no guessing

The Canon Arizona 1360 GT is the 6-channel mid-tier model in the Arizona 1300 series — a true UV flatbed printer for sign and display shops that need white ink and clear varnish in addition to CMYK. It uses the third-generation VariaDot piezoelectric printhead system with 636 nozzles per channel and variable droplet sizes from 6 to 42 picoliters. Top speed is up to 547 sq ft/hr in high-key mode and ~380 sq ft/hr at Production density. Bed size is 49.2 x 98.4 in. for full 4 x 8 ft rigid sheets, accepting media up to 2 in. thick. The 6-channel config is the workshop favorite: CMYK + white + clear varnish in one setup, no swapping between jobs. White ink lets you print on dark substrates, backlit film, and second-surface glass. Varnish gives you tactile finishes and selective gloss/matte. UV-LED instant curing, no warm-up. Field-upgradable to the 1380 GT (8 channels) for LC/LM. We sell the 1360 GT to shops doing 1,000-3,500 sq ft a day across POP, retail signage, exhibition graphics, packaging mockups, and rigid display work — anywhere white ink earns its keep. Buyers who regret it are usually shops that never actually print on dark or transparent substrates — at which point the 1340 GT (CMYK only) would have done the same job for less money.

Supplies & consumables

Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.

If you lease this printer through us, toner and drum are included. You never pay for supplies separately. That's usually the better deal once you add up real costs over 3 years.

What customers actually say

The 5-star consensus: "it just works"

Small sample size, high signal. The 4 verified reviewers picked this model to replace older inkjets or aging Canon machines. Common threads in the feedback:

  • "Been using the Arizona 1360 GT for our print shop for about 8 months now. The color consistency is solid and we haven't had any major issues with the UV ink system. Turn-around times are good for small to medium jobs."
  • "Decent machine overall. Print quality on rigid materials is really what we got it for, and it handles that well. Maintenance can be a bit tedious though, and the learning curve on the software took longer than I expected."
  • "We upgraded from an older flatbed and the Arizona 1360 GT has been reliable. Speed is acceptable for our needs and the footprint fits in our shop. Support from the dealer has been helpful when we needed it."
  • "Works fine for what we use it for - mostly signage and some promotional items. The white ink function is helpful. Just wish the head cleaning cycles weren't so frequent, but that's probably normal for this type of equipment."
