The Ricoh Aficio 480W is the top mono wide-format production MFP in the legacy Aficio W-series — copy, print, scan with email — built for AEC firms and reprographics shops that print 1,000-3,000 mono D-size and E-size plans a month. It runs at 8 ppm at A1/D-size with an 18-second first copy out, prints up to 36 inches wide on a 4-roll capacity (the most of any Aficio W mono unit — 240W is 1 roll, 470W is 2), and outputs at 600 x 600 dpi. Monthly duty cycle is 80,000 pages, toner capacity is around 30,000 square feet of output, and the unit measures 47 x 50 x 30 inches at 507 lb. Connectivity is 10/100 Ethernet plus parallel and USB; the integrated scanner is mono and supports scan-to-email out of the box. Original MSRP $24,500. The thing buyers regret: paying for 4-roll capacity when the operators only ever load 2 sizes — if you genuinely won't rotate through D, E, A0, A1 regularly, the 470W (2 rolls) is meaningfully cheaper.
