  • You're moving from a Canon imagePROGRAF or Oce TDS — operators adapt to the 8-inch HP touchscreen quickly, but expect 2-3 weeks of muscle-memory complaints.

  • You print under 50 D/A1 a day — you're paying for a 24-ppm production printer and using maybe 10% of it. Look at the DesignJet T1700 or T830 instead.
  • You need photo-quality color for renderings — this is pigment ink for technical work, not 6-ink fine-art quality.

The 2RQ10B SKU bundles the 40-in MFP base with the high-capacity stacker and PostScript/PDF — full production configuration out of the gate. Print speed is 24 D/A1 pages per minute (1,328 pages/hour) in both mono and color, with 25-second first page out and 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution. The integrated 36-in CIS scanner reads up to 9 in/sec color, scans to USB/SMB/email, and copies up to 374.5 in long. Two 40-in rolls are standard with auto-switch, expandable to 4. The Intel Core i5 controller has 16 GB DDR3, a 128 GB SSD, and a 500 GB AES-256 self-encrypting HDD. Connectivity is Gigabit Ethernet TCP/IP, BootP/DHCP, USB 2.0 host. The 8-inch capacitive touchscreen handles job management; HP SmartStream Print Controller is the production RIP.
