The HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4101fdn is the wired mono multifunction in HP's 4101 series — print, copy, scan, fax, with auto duplex on print and a single-pass duplex ADF on scan. Best fit: small offices of 3-10 people printing 750-4,000 pages a month who need real document workflow without paying for color or enterprise gear. Print speed is 42 ppm letter, first page out 6.1 seconds, max duty 80,000 pages/month. Standard input is 350 sheets across the 100-sheet MP and 250-sheet tray, expandable to 900 with the D9P29A 550-sheet feeder. The 50-sheet ADF scans both sides of a page in a single pass at 42 ppm — this is the single biggest reason customers move up from a 4001 to a 4101. Connectivity is Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, and RJ-11 fax — no Wi-Fi (that's the fdw). The 2.7-inch color touchscreen handles all input including scan-to-email setup. HP Wolf Pro Security is preconfigured. Uses HP 148A (~2,900) or 148X (~9,500) toner. The thing buyers regret: not getting the fdw.
