Is this the right printer for you?

Who the Canon imageRUNNER 6570 is actually for

Most printer pages just tell you what a printer does. Here's the honest version: when this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We sell a lot of these for a reason, but the reason is not "every office."

Best fit

Pick this if...

  • You run a department or central print room cranking out 25,000-75,000 pages a month and want 65-ppm A3 mono.
  • You already have one on a maintenance contract — keep it running, the per-click is hard to beat.
  • You need 11x17 capability on a heavy-duty chassis with finishing (stapler/stacker, hole-punch, optional booklet maker).
  • You have legacy MEAP scan-to-network workflows already configured.
Works fine

You'll be happy if...

  • You print 10,000-25,000 pages a month — overbuilt, but a refurb 6570 at the right price is solid.
  • You need scan-to-email and scan-to-SMB — handles it, just don't expect modern cloud connectors.
  • You need a backup unit behind a newer color fleet — drops in for B&W overflow.
Look elsewhere

Skip this if...

  • You print under 7,500 pages a month — 474 lb on a 16-amp dedicated line for that volume doesn't pencil out.
  • You need cloud scan (OneDrive, Google Drive, SharePoint) — not native, MEAP apps are aging out.
  • You need Wi-Fi or AirPrint standard — optional adapter only, no modern mobile support.
  • You're buying new — Canon EOL'd this generation. Look at the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX 4945i / 4951i.
  • You need color — mono only.
Full specifications

Every spec, no guessing

The Canon imageRUNNER 6570 is a 65-ppm floor-standing mono A3 multifunction from Canon's mid-2000s iR production line — the middle speed of the 5570/6570/7086 chassis trio. Built for departments and central print rooms doing 25,000-75,000 pages a month with monthly duty cycle rated 250,000 pages. Standard paper capacity is 4,150 sheets across dual 550-sheet drawers and dual 1,500-sheet decks, expandable to 7,650 with the side deck. Print resolution is 600 x 600 dpi, first copy out in 3.3 seconds. Same 474 lb chassis as the 5570, same 120V/16A power draw, same 8.4-inch SVGA color touchscreen. Standard connectivity is 10/100 Ethernet and USB 2.0; wireless is the optional NB-W1 adapter. Scan-to-email, scan-to-SMB/FTP folder, and I-fax are standard. The thing buyers regret: it's a 2005-era platform Canon no longer markets, and getting OEM toner and parts requires a dealer relationship — not a problem if you already have one, a problem if you don't. Keep one running if you have it; if you're shopping new, jump to the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX 4951i.

Supplies & consumables

Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.

If you lease this printer through us, toner and drum are included. You never pay for supplies separately. That's usually the better deal once you add up real costs over 3 years.

The Canon imageRUNNER 6570 is a 65-ppm monochrome floor-standing multifunction printer designed for high-volume environments (25,000-75,000 pages/month), while the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX 4825i is a 25-ppm workgroup multifunction printer suited for smaller offices (3,000-15,000 pages/month). The 6570 features a 250,000-page monthly duty cycle, expandable paper capacity up to 7,650 sheets, and a 600 x 600 dpi resolution, whereas the 4825i offers a 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, and built-in Wi-Fi.
