The Canon imageRUNNER 5055 (and the network-standard 5055N variant) is a 55 ppm production-class B&W MFP — same chassis as the 5020/5050, but with the faster engine, 250,000 pages/month max duty cycle, and 3.5 second first copy out. Print resolution is true 1200 x 1200 dpi. Standard paper capacity is 3,650 sheets across dual 550-sheet drawers, dual 1,500-sheet drawers, and a 50-sheet bypass — expandable with optional decks. The 10.4-inch color touchscreen, standard auto duplex, MEAP application platform, 100-sheet DADF, and Gigabit Ethernet are all in the box. Toner is the GPR-21 / C-EXV13 family. The chassis is 47 x 25-3/8 x 29-1/4 inches and weighs around 470 lb. This is the right machine for an in-plant, central reprographics department, or production print shop printing 50,000-150,000 pages a month that needs 55 ppm B&W throughput with full finishing options. The thing buyers regret: assuming this platform has modern security or cloud workflows. It doesn't. Most buyers today are existing fleet operators replacing a sister unit; if you need modern security, look at the iR-ADV DX 6700 series instead.
