The Canon imagePRESS V700 is the entry point to the V-series production line — 71 ppm color and BW Letter (35 ipm 11x17, 35 ipm 12x18, 33 ipm 13x19, 19 ipm 13x30), 2400 x 2400 dpi resolution, and a 1,650-sheet standard / 10,400-sheet maximum paper capacity across the engine plus optional Multi-drawer Paper Deck and POD Deck Lite. Paper-weight envelope is 14 lb. Bond to 110 lb. Cover (52-300 gsm) standard, 14 lb. Bond to 130 lb. Cover (52-350 gsm) with optional input decks. Automatic duplex on stocks up to 350 gsm. Driven by your choice of four controllers: PRISMAsync (standard for cross-press scheduling), imagePRESS Server N500 or P400 (Fiery), or the entry-level imagePRESS Printer Board. Scan throughput on the optional single-pass duplex Color Image Reader is 270 ipm — same as the V800 and V900. Inline finishing includes High-Capacity Stacker, Saddle/Booklet Finisher, Perfect Binder, Multi Function Professional Puncher, and the same finisher train that bolts to the rest of the V-series. The thing buyers regret: assuming the V700 is a step down from the C910 (also 90 ppm). It's not the same chassis; it's the new V-series chassis at the slower end. The V700 buys you the V-series toner, registration, and controller stack at a 71 ppm price point — useful if you're standardizing across multiple presses.

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.
