It runs 40 ppm black and 36 ppm color at true 1200 x 1200 dpi, with first page out in 6.7 seconds black and 9.6 seconds color. The 100-sheet duplexing ADF scans at 70 ipm (300 dpi) to email, network folder, internet fax, FTP, and document management systems. Standard paper capacity is 1,200 sheets; with the optional decks and tandem trays it scales to 5,000 sheets across six sources. Monthly duty cycle is 150,000 pages — Canon recommends staying under 18,000-20,000 a month for sane toner economics. Where this machine earns its place: finishing options. Multi-position stapling, saddle-stitched booklets, optional 2/3-hole punch, and a cover insertion tray mean a marketing team or in-plant can turn around bound proposals without outsourcing.
