Is this the right printer for you?

Who the Canon Arizona 6160 XTHF Mark II is actually for

Most printer pages just tell you what a printer does. Here's the honest version: when this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We sell a lot of these for a reason, but the reason is not "every office."

Best fit

Pick this if...

  • You run a high-volume sign, display, or packaging operation printing 3,000-10,000+ sq ft a day on rigid substrates.
  • You need a true production flatbed — up to 220 m²/hr (~2,367 sq ft/hr) on the XTHF model.
  • You print on porous, irregular, or hard-to-hold media (corrugated, honeycomb, MDF, doors, irregular objects) — three High-FLOW vacuum pumps overwhelm porous media.
  • You need 250 x 320 cm (98.4 x 126 in.) bed for the largest commodity rigid sheet sizes plus oversize work.
  • You're already running a 1300-series Arizona and need to step up to 24/7 production capacity.
Works fine

You'll be happy if...

  • You print 1,500-3,000 sq ft a day — works fine, but you're paying for a 24/7 production chassis. The 1360 GT or 1380 GT may be the better-fit buy.
  • You need 3-phase power (200-240VAC 20A Delta or 347-415VAC 11A Wye) — most production print shops have it; check your panel before quoting.
  • You print mostly flat sheets — XTHF's high-flow vacuum is overkill but doesn't hurt anything.
  • You're moving from a 6160 XTS (semi-automated) to the XTHF — same chassis class, different vacuum and automation.
Look elsewhere

Skip this if...

  • You print under 1,500 sq ft a day — the capex and 7 kW power draw don't pencil out. Get a 1340 GT or 1360 GT.
  • You don't have 3-phase power and don't want to install it — get a single-phase 1300-series model.
  • You don't need the 250 x 320 cm bed or porous-media handling — you're paying for capabilities you won't use.
  • You don't have a dedicated operator and a calibrated, high-throughput RIP/MIS workflow (Caldera, ONYX with automation) — this is enterprise-class equipment.
  • Your floorspace can't take it — the 6160 XTHF Mark II is a large floor-standing press; plan for the footprint and the service clearance.
Full specifications

Every spec, no guessing

The Canon Arizona 6160 XTHF Mark II is the high-flow vacuum, high-volume true UV flatbed in the Arizona 6100 Mark II series — a production-class press for sign, display, packaging, and industrial decoration shops printing 3,000-10,000+ sq ft a day on rigid substrates. It uses 3rd-generation VariaDot imaging technology and tops out at 220 m²/hr (about 2,367 sq ft/hr) at production density. The 250 x 320 cm (98.4 x 126 in.) bed is one of the largest in the Arizona line. The XTHF designation is the differentiator: three High-FLOW regenerative blower vacuum pumps generate enough airflow to hold down porous and difficult-to-constrain media — corrugated cardboard, honeycomb panels, MDF, doors, and irregular objects — that would lift on a standard vacuum table. Line straightness is 0.7 mm over 2.5 m width and 0.7 mm over 3.2 m length, with 1.0 mm diagonal accuracy across the full 3.2 x 2.5 m bed. Power requirement is 3-phase, 200-240VAC 20A Delta or 347-415VAC 11A Wye, with 7 kW max draw. We sell the 6160 XTHF Mark II to high-volume production shops, packaging mockup houses, and industrial decoration operations. Buyers who regret it are usually under-volumed (under 1,500 sq ft a day), at which point a 1300-series Arizona is the right tool.

Supplies & consumables

Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.

If you lease this printer through us, toner and drum are included. You never pay for supplies separately. That's usually the better deal once you add up real costs over 3 years.

What customers actually say

The 5-star consensus: "it just works"

Small sample size, high signal. The 5 verified reviewers picked this model to replace older inkjets or aging Canon machines. Common threads in the feedback:

  • "Been running this Arizona 6160 for about eight months in our print shop and it handles the high-volume work without complaints. The XTHF ink system keeps costs reasonable and color consistency is solid across different substrates."
  • "Good printer for wide format work. The Mark II is faster than my old machine and the software integration could be better, but overall it gets the job done for our architectural prints and displays."
  • "Upgraded from a competitor model and the Arizona 6160 XTHF Mark II is worth the investment. Reliability has been excellent, maintenance is straightforward, and the image quality on textiles and rigid media is exactly what we needed for our business."
  • "Good workhorse for small batch production. Print quality is consistent and the machine doesn't break down much, though the maintenance schedule is pretty rigid if you want to keep it that way. Worth it for our volume."
  • "Does what it's supposed to do. Output quality is reliable, though the learning curve for settings was steeper than expected. Support team helped us get dialed in after a few weeks."
